How this is converted

Mangrove trees can sequester approximately 12 kg of CO₂ per tree per year, but their unique root systems and sediment capture capabilities mean they sequester much more carbon over time. Let's use an average value of 25 kg CO₂ per tree per year.

How this is converted

Mangrove trees produce a significant amount of oxygen due to their large biomass and fast growth rates. Assuming each mangrove tree produces about 187 kg of oxygen per year.

How this is converted

Shade is crucial for regulating water temperature, protecting wildlife, preventing soil erosion, and reducing algal blooms. Mangrove's dense planting offers considerable coverage. Assuming each tree provides approx. 2 sqm of coverage.
