We’re proud that e-commerce pioneer Mutts & Hounds are leading the way when it comes to helping not only mans best friend but also Mother Nature  🐶

Mutts & Hounds manufacture luxury dog products supplying HarrodsSelfridges and Fortnum & Mason and over the past 2 years has seen record growth in e-commerce orders. Founder Richard Corsie MBE wanted as a priority to find a solution to counter the vast increase in carriage emissions.

Planting a certified tree for every order has enabled Mutts & Hounds to remove all the CO2 created in the carriage process by planting over 6300 certified mangrove trees, removing nearly 33 tonnes of CO2 as part of its journey to net-zero, which is the equivalent of removing 33 hot air balloons.

“For Mutts & Hounds, it was an easy decision to fund planting a tree for every parcel despatched. Whilst we recognise the financial challenges businesses are facing, it doesn’t cost the Earth to implement such a policy but it contributes to saving the Earth, while our customers know their dog bed has been delivered to their door in a carbon-neutral manner”

Customers can also plant more trees at checkout with every order, and with over 7000 product items on offer, customers have the comfort of knowing their order will reach them carbon-free. Mutts & Hounds and its customers are able to easily see the impact they are making via their unique Virtual Impact Forest.

“We wanted to find a simple way to ensure that with every order, and for every customer we could help reduce our carbon footprint, particularly around deliveries. Whilst also ensuring that we could showcase what we’re doing, the ability for our customers to get involved has been fantastic. It’s so lovely to be part of a great community and be able to see the impact we’re making"

These mangrove trees are planted at a dedicated SKOOT site in Tudor Creek, just outside Mombassa, one of the most deforested and deprived countries in the world.

Mutts & Hounds and its customers are helping rebuild a community, providing much-needed sustainable employment whilst also re-building an eco-system with leading NGO Eden Reforestation.

“Small positive actions make a huge difference. Seeing the impact that Mutts and Hounds and its customers are making is so rewarding. Each tree will remove over 5.9kg of CO2 in its first year alone and up to 750kg during its life-time, but more importantly, stabilise and re-generate an area for generations to come. Only by us all taking more responsibility and working together can we help solve the climate change crises”.
